Meet more families of Napili Surf

Joy Consignado works as the Housekeeping Supervisor, joining Napili Surf 6 years ago. Her husband (Cholo) recently joined Joy & her sons Kyron & Klein, after being separated for 4 years while Cholo worked on a ship. Due to the fires, they must relocate their home & tackle an uncertain road ahead for their family.

Mary Gacusan works as a Housekeeper, Laundress, In-House Chef, & Gardener, first joining Napili Surf 6 years ago. Mary & her husband J'Boie (also Joy Consignado's brother) have 2 children, Mason who has special needs & Jamie. They also must relocate their home due to the fires as these two families support one another.

Anela Rosa works as the Reservations Manager at Napili Surf for 29 years. She is also the “kahu” (minister) of Waiola Church, a 200 year old historical landmark in Maui.  With the church & preschool destroyed by the fires, Anela believes in the strength of the people & is committed to uncover beauty from the ashes. 

Monique “Mo” Blando works as the “Jill of All Trades” for Napili Surf for the past 5 years. Mo also cares for her mother (Momi), as she battles dementia. Mo’s sister & her family lost their home in the fires, as did many of their loved ones. Born & raised in Lahaina, Mo & her family hope to rebuild their community.

Marissa Dagupion joined Napili Surf 27 years ago & still works special events after retiring as Housekeeping Manager. She & her husband (Eugene) still make the musubi & banana lumpia for weekly Friday Breakfast. In the same love, they now share their home with his sister's family of 10 who lost their home in the fire. 

Noralyn Simon first joined Napili Surf 9 years ago & works in the Housekeeping department. Her son & his family also lost their home in the fires, as Noralyn welcomes them in & grapples with supporting her family as they begin rebuilding their lives after so much devastation. 

Lyndale Arena currently works as a Housekeeper, first joining Napili Surf a year & a half ago. As a result of the fires, she has lost her income, greatly impacting her ability to support herself & her 3 children. Lyndale is facing a future of uncertainty as this bright young mother pushes forward for her family.
